Smoking Adiction and Adding Value to the Schools

Why?
In 2004, two local schools (Alberto Kenworthy and Salomão Jorge) witnessed how the amount of smoking teenagers near the school increased significantly. This triggered the worries of the staff working at those schools, who asked out organization to design and carry out activities inviting youth to think about the dangers of smoking.

Target Population
Young participants from the "Community Service Volunteers" programme and their parents, and students from two public schools (Alberto Kenworthy and Salomão Jorge)

Goal
Make clear and raise awareness about the dangers hidden behind tobacco consumption.

Methodology
This activity was carried out in two stages:

● Qualification of multiplying youth.
● Smoking Awareness Lecture, organized by participants of the "Community Service Volunteers" programme.
