Prestação de Serviços à Comunidade -- Community Service Volunteering

The program PSC (Prestação de Serviços à Comunidade -"Community Service Volunteering" or CSV) endeavors to reintegrate in society youth having participated in any kind of criminal activity in the past. This is implemented following a scheme of educational practices and direct actions benefiting the community.

What is it and who is is for
The PSC program is developed in cooperation with the Infancy and Youth Secretary of the municipality of Carapicuiba (cf. Brazilian Children and Teenager Bylaw, art. 117).

Youth involved in this project take part in educational activities and volunteer at partner NGOs and local secretaries –the so-called host institutions.

Why
Our work pledges to help the youth create their own life project, which would steer them away from criminal activity. Therefore, the can regard their life as one being worth living in harmony.

How
Through educational workshops and practical activities developed at the host institutions.
