Agente Jovem -- Youth Leadership

What is it and who is it for
The programme Agente Joven is a volunteering and protagonismo juvenile action, developed together with the Federal Government, since 2001, and intended for young people 15-17 years old coming from families suffering from extreme shortage and therefore vulnerable to poverty. Since 2007, the programme Agente Joven in Conexão cariies out its actions parallel to the United Nations Millenium Development Goals (MDG’s).

Why
Youth, as a specific segment of society, has particular behavioral characteristics, being important agents of development, and therefore, being society’s duty to recognize, reconcile and enlist the youth as active elements of its development.

How
The program aims and brings to young people’s everyday life the concept of youth leadership, receiving specific training with appropriate methodology that foster them to be transformation agents in the fields of health, sport, culture, citizenship and environment.
